| I really am posting again!* It's been awhile since I've had the chance to sit down and write, and upload new pictures of our little guy. Life with a baby is incredibly busy, (sometimes overwhelming and frustrating), but very wonderful. Jon has begun grinning in the last month, as well as learning how to laugh. It is so much fun to watch him learn how to do things and see him grow up. It's all happening really fast...(he's already growing out of his 3-6 mos. clothing...agh!!!). Babies keep life interesting. I am in the process of putting his summer clothes away and getting out his larger-sized winter clothing. He will be a warm, well-dressed little guy as long as he stays small enough to fit in them.
There are a lot of things that have happened since I posted last. We had some PHC friends over a few weeks ago for dessert. We spent a couple of hours sitting around talking about homeschoolers, legalism, and religion. It was good to have a chance to have a deep coversation with good friends (even if I felt I was way in over my head sometimes.... ) I forgot to take pictures until most of them had left (grrrr), but here are a few of them....you can see the future lawyers in the back, discussing law. Em, you should be proud of me...I'm not posting the picture of you making faces at me.

We also made a flying trip (literally), to Michigan this past weekend. I found out last week, that my half-sister died of a heart-attack on Oct. 23, and so we went back for the funeral and to be with my dad. Our flight to MI got messed up, so we ended up staying one (very brief) night in Cleveland. It was a difficult few days, especially when Mark caught a nasty case of the stomach flu or food poisening. However, we made it back safe and sound last Monday night. One of the really good things about the trip was that my dad (and grandparents) were able to see Jonathan for the first time. Mark is gearing up for finals, which start in about a month, and we are both really looking forward to Christmas vacation. This has been a good, but intense semester and we both need a break. We hope to leave Jonathan with the grandparents a few times over the break, so we can have a couple of "date nights". We haven't been able to do that too much since Jonathan's birth, so we are really looking forward to it. I am also really excited about Christmas. Last year I was too sick to do any decorating, or really to enjoy the holidays at all (we even missed the Candlelight Service at church), so this year will be essentially be our first Christmas together. I can't wait to decorate, make plates of goodies for our friends, and just enjoy being with my family and celebrating. I thought about decorating around the middle of October, but Mark suggested that we might want to wait until the day after Thanksgiving. So, I think that's the plan....Eat leftovers, visit with friends, and decorate the house. *As some of you will notice, this was copied and pasted from the other blog, so not all the references to dates are accurate any more. But, it's more recent than the last post on this blog!!!! |
